Police have arrested Sandra Teta over allegations of intentionally knocking down her partner, popular Ugandan musician Douglas Mayanja, alias Weasel, in a hit-and-run incident outside a bar in Munyonyo.
The late-night altercation reportedly unfolded around midnight near Shan’s Bar, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire.
“It is alleged that Sandra Teta intentionally drove and knocked down Weasel using motor vehicle registration number UBH 148Y,” Owoyesigyire said in a statement.
The vehicle involved has since been impounded and is currently parked at Kabalagala Police Station as part of the ongoing investigation.
Weasel was initially rushed to Mukwaya General Hospital and later transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he remains admitted and under medical care.
Sandra Teta is currently being held at Kabalagala Police Station and is facing charges related to unlawful wounding.
Police say inquiries into the incident are ongoing, and further details will be shared in due course.
