A 45-year-old traditional healer was fatally stabbed in the early hours of Thursday morning in Matugga following a dispute believed to have stemmed from a disagreement over Shs2,000.
The victim, identified as Isa Bisobolwa, was attacked at around 1:20am in Kito Cell, Matugga.
He had reportedly spent the previous evening in the company of 18-year-old Richard Mutyaba, who is suspected of carrying out the attack.
Witnesses saw the two men were seen together at a local bar known as Mama Naka before a quarrel broke out.
According to accounts from the scene, Mutyaba allegedly turned violent during the altercation and stabbed Bisobolwa twice—once in the neck and once in the stomach.
Bystanders rushed the wounded healer to Wanda Health Centre, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Police have since launched a murder investigation and processed the scene for evidence. Bisobolwa’s body has been transferred to Mulago Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The suspect, who fled after the incident, remains at large as a manhunt continues.
Community members expressed shock at the killing, noting that the two men had been staying together and were known to frequent the same social spots in the area.
