Kampala Land Broker Kamoga Given One Week to Produce 40 Titles in Fraud Case
Muhammad Kamoga has one week to sort himself or go to jail
Kampala land broker Muhammad Kamoga has been given a final one-week deadline by the High Court to produce over 40 land titles or face jail time, following allegations of fraud and failure to honor a 5-year-old consent judgment related to disputed property in Garuga–Bugabo, Wakiso District.

Renowned Kampala City land broker, Muhammad Kamoga, has narrowly avoided jail after the High Court’s Land Division granted him a final opportunity to produce over 40 land titles in a longstanding fraud case.

Kamoga, the proprietor of Kamoga Property Consultants, was arrested by court bailiffs earlier today and presented before High Court Registrar Karen Christine Namutebi.

He was due for committal to Luzira Civil Prison for failure to comply with a consent judgment he signed five years ago, in which he agreed to return 45 land titles for property in Garuga–Bugabo, Wakiso District.

During the court session, Kamoga and his lawyer, Moses Karungi, pleaded for more time, arguing that efforts were underway to retrieve the disputed titles.

The registrar granted Kamoga a one-week grace period to submit the documents.

The complaint was filed by Andrew Nganda Bugingo, who accuses Kamoga of fraudulently transferring most of the land titles into his own name, leaving Bugingo and several other residents stranded on Block 432, Plots 111 and 131 in Bugabo.

Court documents reveal that Kamoga initially acted as an agent for the subdivision of the land and was entrusted with the mother title.

However, he failed to distribute individual titles to the rightful owners, prompting the civil suit.

The High Court has now ordered Kamoga—who has reportedly evaded justice since 2018—to surrender the land titles to court no later than May 12, 2025. Failure to do so could lead to his immediate incarceration.
