Missing four-year-old girl found defiled, killed

Police in Kampala have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a four-year-old girl who had been missing for two days was recovered killed and body dumped in an abandoned house.

According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, Clowie Ndagire, 4 went missing on Friday in the evening in Kirinyabigo Zone in Kawanda, Wakiso district.

“On November, 15, Clowie Ndagire who was playing with friends out her home went missing. When her mother wanted her to take a birth, she was nowhere to be seen and when she asked friends, they didn’t know her whereabouts,” Owoyesigyire said.

He noted that the following day, the girl’s mother reported the matter to Kawanda police.

Owoyesigyire said on Sunday at around 1pm, police received information that an unidentified body had been recovered in an abandoned house, about 200 metres away from the missing girl’s home.

It was later reported that the body was that of Ndagire.

“The body had signs of sexual assault and strangulation but we are waiting for confirmation by experts,” Owoyesigyire said.

He noted that ongoing investigations will help confirm whether she was defiled .
