Ronald Walugembe, a 38-year-old farmer from Butebere-Kibati in Buwunga sub-county, was found murdered on Friday afternoon.

Details surrounding Walugembe's death remain unclear but according to his wife Agnes Namara, the deceased  left home on Thursday evening around 7pm after receiving a call from someone who was calling him to Kitabaazi trading center.

"He asked me to wait for him as he stepped out briefly. When he failed to return I started getting worried  and I went to my father in law's home to tell him and I told neighbors who started a search but unfortunately we found when he was brutally murdered,"Namara said.

The discovery has left the community worried, with many struggling to comprehend the violent loss.

Paul Ssuna, Walugembe's father, expressed his heartbreak, stating he had not seen his son the day before during a market visit.

"I was shocked to learn of his death this morning. We were just together," he said through tears.

In response to the incident, police from Masaka City arrived on the scene with a sniffer dog and promptly detained three suspects for questioning.

The police have since taken Walugembe's body to Masaka Hospital for further examination.
