Ugandan engineers abducted by South Sudan freed after Gen Muhoozi's intervention
Two Ugandan engineers who were kidnapped by South Sudanese soldiers a few months ago have been released following discussions involving the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
The engineers, identified as Mr. Joachim Musinguzi and Mr. Julius Kitende, were freed after a meeting between Gen Muhoozi, and Gen Santino Deng Wol, his South Sudanese counterpart.

Officials confirmed that the engineers returned to Uganda on Monday via Uganda Airlines, where they were welcomed by military intelligence personnel.
Maj Gen Lul Ruai Koang, spokesperson for the South Sudan People's Defence Forces (SSPDF) also noted that the UPDF had released three South Sudanese soldiers who had been detained in July.
According to officials, the discussions between the two army chiefs centered on "regional security issues of mutual concern.
“The two military leaders acknowledged the longstanding relationship between Uganda and South Sudan, committing to further enhancing military to military relations,” a communique stated.
