Policeman who killed ex-lover being investigated for other shooting
Jinja road Police station has arrested an officer suspected to have shot dead his ex-lover and another dead in the barracks.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, Constable Alex Adei attached to the counter terrorism unit and stays in Naguru barracks shot and killed his former wife with whom they had separated.

“The woman was now with new boyfriend and after being deployed with a gun, went and found the lady out of her uniport and shot her dead,” Owoyesigyire said.
He noted that whereas it was thought that only one person was killed, on Monday morning , another body was found in a pool of blood.
“Early in the morning, one of the officers, also a resident of Naguru barracks was found in a pool of blood adjacent to where the first victim was killed. It is believed the gunshot extended up to the neighbour who was sleeping and died in his sleep.”
Owoyesigyire said whereas details surrounding the shooting are still scanty, investigations are ongoing.
The Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson said there are claims of a history of the suspects misusing his firearm raised by colleagues, investigations will help clear the air on the same.
He said if correct, investigations will help clear on how the officer was redeployed and armed .
This website has separately learnt that Adei was involved in a shooting in his home village in Abim where he shot and injured his brother.
