Jilted lover cuts off woman's palm
A 38-year-old man identified as Atanansi Mayanja a resident of Kalunduka village in Kibinge Sub County in Bukomansimbi district has hacked his lover Faridah Babirye Namutebe, 30, and her 14 year old daughter, Mary Gorreth Nassuna, on accusations of cheating him.
The couple have not been living together but their relationship was reportedly strained by Mayanja’s suspicions and jealousy.

The incident occurred at 8am on Monday after Mayanja found Namutebi and daughter in the garden .
Eye witnesses who rushed to the scene said that Mayanja accused Namutebi of being unfaithful because she was allegedly speaking to other men and began taunting her.
The situation escalated when Mayanja forcefully took away her phone and broke it into pieces and in a fit of rage, he started stabbing her repeatedly.
Namutebi’s daughter Gorreth Nassuuna tried to intervene but was also attacked by Mayanja, who showed no mercy.
According to accounts from the scene,Mayanja in the gruesome act, severed one of Namutebi’s arms and carried it back to the garden.
“He cut off her thumb here on my door because the woman came in running while pushing my door with her two full hands and after cutting off Namutebi’s thumb he took it back to the garden where Namutebi and her daughter were digging,” Mercy Nakavuma a resident said.
According to residents, Mayanja and Namutebi were not married but were in a relationship which has lasted for about six months.
Namutebi, a mother of three had her children in previous relationship, and none of them were fathered by Mayanja.
The couple had not been living together but, their relationship was reportedly strained by Mayanja’s suspicions and jealousy.
“The man was thinking that his lover has another man. Namutebi has been living on but what the man did is really bad. And he wanted to kill her yesterday night but Namutebi’s children stopped her from opening for the man but see how she came to dig in a garden that he gave to her," Joanitah Namugga said.
Despite the desperate attempts of local residents to track down the killer, they only met with pools of blood and signs of his escape.
“We think after hacking his lover and her daughter, he also killed himself because we have found three blood spots in the bush,"said Badru Muganga a local leader.
Namutebi and her daughter Nassuuna were rushed to Masaka regional referral hospital where they are nursing wounds.
Namutebi revealed the horror she endured, as she recounted how her husband had confroted her in a garden, accusing her of infidelity before drawing the panga on her head.
“He came with a sharp panga and I asked him what he was going to cut but he was not replying me. Then he told me to give him my phone which he broke into two parts . After raising the panga to to hit my neck, my daughter shouted to him but cut her fingers .I ran away and he ran after me, that is when he cut me on head, Namutebi recalls.
Namutebi originally from Sembabule, had been residing in Kalubanda village in Kibinge subcounty also, where she ran a small shop. But she claims that, Mayanja ate all her capital and he gave her that plot where he injured her from.
Masaka police spokesperson, Twaha Kasirye, confirmed the incident.
He urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement as they continue their search for Mayanja.
"We urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward." Kasirye said.
