A security guard has shot dead a man suspected of having a love affair with a married woman in Kampala.

The incident according to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire happened in Kyebando, Kisalosalo Zone in Kawempe division on Wednesday evening when Adaca Sabina, also known as Francis Alele, 36 a driver with Khan Logistics was gunned down by a security guard attached to SGA Security Company.

“At approximately 19:30 hours, the deceased was allegedly intercepted by the security guard who is also a resident of the same area. Mr. Adaca Sabina was shot around the chest or heart while on the phone, attempting to exit a corridor. The assailant fled the scene with the weapon, leaving Mr. Adaca Sabina in a pool of blood,” Owoyesigyire said.

Some commentators on social media who claimed to have information about the incident said the driver was shot dead for having an affair with a married woman.

Police however said whereas such allegations are being peddled, investigations will help either dispel or confirm them.

“It has been alleged that Mr. Adaca Sabina was involved in extramarital affairs, which may have contributed to this unfortunate incident. However, it is imperative to allow the ongoing investigation by the authorities to uncover all relevant facts and motives surrounding this heinous crime.”

Owoyesigyire said the crime scene was visited by police, thorough documentation done and evidence collected to help investigations and the deceased’s body was take to KCCA City mortuary in Mulago for postmortem.

“We assure the public that every effort is being made to apprehend the suspect and recover the weapon used in this senseless act of violence.”

Police urged members of the public with information relating to the shooting to provide it to help in the ongoing investigations.
