Bushenyi High Court has convened a Regional Coordination Committee (RCC) meeting aimed at enhancing justice administration within the region.
The meeting, chaired by Resident Judge Amos Kwizera, brought together key judicial stakeholders to discuss progress and challenges in the justice system.
In his remarks, Justice Kwizera expressed gratitude to committee members for their tireless support and noted that all key stakeholders were well represented.
He announced that the court was finalizing its current session and had received facilitation to commence another.
He assured the committee that both civil and criminal matters would be balanced to prevent the sidelining of civil cases.
Justice Kwizera also emphasized the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a means to enhance access to justice.
He revealed plans to introduce a training program for individuals interested in becoming mediators, encouraging members to embrace ADR as a means to expedite case resolution.
The meeting resolved that justice should be dispensed using available resources efficiently, while ensuring effective communication among all stakeholders.
Moderated by Deputy Registrar HW Arinaitwe Goretti, the session concluded with appreciation for the Judiciary’s logistical support towards RCC activities.
Attendees included LCV Chairpersons, Resident District Commissioners, Magistrates, Regional Internal Security Officers, Police Commanders, Criminal Investigations Department officials, representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, advocates, court bailiffs, community service officers, probation officers, and religious leaders.
