Muslims urged to combat extremism, preserve the peaceful image of Islam
Colonel Sam Ntambirwe, the Deputy Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), made this plea while presenting a variety of donations from the UPDF to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council at their headquarters in Old Kampala.

The Muslim community has received a call to actively engage in the fight against extremism and individuals seeking to tarnish the reputation of Islam, a religion renowned for promoting peace among all the people of Uganda.

"It is disheartening to witness extremists and terrorists attempting to exploit the Islamic faith, misrepresenting it as hostile, threatening, and dangerous," expressed Col Ntambirwe.

He commended the Muslim leadership for their efforts in propagating the President's message of peace and unity, which serves as a viable solution to the challenges faced by Uganda.

Abbas Muluubya Sekyanzi, the Secretary General of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, expressed gratitude to the UPDF for their selfless work in ensuring peace for all Ugandans.

He assured all Ugandans, and specifically the UPDF, that no Muslim within Uganda would collaborate with terrorists.

The donated items included 20 jerry cansex of cooking oil (20 liters each), 20 sacks of rice, and 10 bags of sugar.
