The 2026 Kampala Auto Show concluded at Kololo Independence Grounds after a three-day exhibition that brought together key players in Uganda's automotive industry for vehicle displays, business networking, motorsport entertainment and consumer engagement.

Held from July 17 to 19, the fifth edition of the annual event attracted car dealers, mechanics, vehicle owners, motorsport drivers, insurance companies, asset-financing institutions and automotive enthusiasts, reinforcing its position as one of Uganda's premier motoring and lifestyle events.

This year's exhibition featured an extensive showcase of new and used vehicles, electric vehicles, vintage and custom-built cars, alongside live drifting, drag racing, stunt performances, vehicle maintenance workshops and exhibitions by companies operating across the automotive value chain.

Among the exhibitors was Kansai Plascon Uganda, which participated as a co-sponsor of the event for the third consecutive year, using the platform to showcase its range of automotive paint solutions alongside its broader portfolio of paint products.

At its exhibition booth, Plascon engaged motorists, mechanics, spray painters, vehicle owners and automotive enthusiasts on products designed for vehicle refinishing, body repair, refurbishment and maintenance. Company representatives also demonstrated best practices in professional paint application, vehicle body finishing and paint care while emphasizing the importance of using genuine automotive paint products.

Speaking during the event, Daniel Kayongo, Head of Marketing at Kansai Plascon Uganda, said the company's continued participation reflects its commitment to supporting the country's growing automotive industry while increasing awareness of its automotive paint solutions.

"The Kampala Auto Show gives us a strong opportunity to engage directly with motorists, mechanics, spray painters, car owners and car enthusiasts. Many people know Plascon for decorative and architectural paints, but we also have strong automotive paint solutions that support vehicle finishing, repair and refurbishment. Our participation here is about education, product experience and supporting the wider automotive industry," Kayongo said.

He noted that the exhibition provided an opportunity to broaden public understanding of the Plascon brand beyond decorative paints by highlighting its capabilities in vehicle refinishing, body repair and long-term vehicle protection.

Beyond the product showcase, the Kampala Auto Show offered visitors a blend of motorsport action and family entertainment, featuring drifting competitions, drag races, stunt performances, custom and vintage vehicle displays, electric vehicle exhibitions and interactive family activities.

The event also provided a platform for discussions on responsible vehicle ownership, with exhibitors offering information on vehicle servicing, maintenance, insurance, financing, spare parts and road safety.

For Kansai Plascon Uganda, the exhibition reinforced the role of automotive paint in protecting vehicles, preserving their value and improving durability. The company also used the platform to encourage motorists to choose genuine automotive paint products and work with trained professionals to achieve high-quality finishes.
