MTN Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to digital and financial inclusion by empowering women entrepreneurs in Soroti through the ‘Together We’re Unstoppable’ campaign.
The initiative, launched in celebration of Women’s Month, focused on supporting small business owners with financial literacy, digital tools, and incentives to drive business growth.
The event, held at Soroti Central Market, recognized and rewarded outstanding female merchants, particularly those utilizing MTN’s digital payment services.
At least 20 women received cash prizes for actively using Pay with MoMo, purchasing MTN’s Kabode smartphones, and engaging with the company’s digital services.
Women with disabilities were also honored with hampers containing essential business tools and merchandise.
Speaking at the activation, MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Mulinge emphasized the company's dedication to empowering women in business.
“At MTN Uganda, we believe that when women are empowered, entire communities thrive. Through this initiative, we are ensuring that women entrepreneurs have access to the digital and financial tools they need to scale their businesses and achieve success,” Mulinge said.
The Soroti market activation featured interactive sessions where traders learned about digital financial services, activated new SIM cards, and explored MTN’s MoMo Pay service.
The campaign also encouraged engagement with MTN’s entertainment platforms, including Caller Tunes and YoTV, offering cashback incentives to participants.
