Dfcu Bank has donated food relief worth Shs30 million to over 200 families in Katanga and Kasokoso slums in Kampala, partnering with the Ayitah Charity Foundation to support vulnerable households, particularly during Ramadan.
The relief packages—comprising sugar, rice, posho, beans, cooking oil, and laundry soap—will be extended to more families nationwide in the coming weeks.
Dfcu staff participated in the distribution, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to social responsibility.
“Ramadan is a time of reflection, unity, and giving,” said Maureen Nagasha, Communications and Events Manager at dfcu Bank.
“True corporate leadership is about making a real impact beyond financial services. This initiative reflects our deep commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and ensuring they have access to basic needs.”
Sophia Nyanzi, CEO of the Ayitah Charity Foundation, welcomed the support, noting that the foundation has positively impacted over 1,500 lives through various humanitarian efforts.
Beyond this food drive, Dfcu Bank remains engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), supporting initiatives in health, education, and disaster relief to improve livelihoods across Uganda.
