Police in Buikwe District are  hunting for three armed men who, on the evening of February 17, 2025, robbed a fuel station in the Gulama area along the Katosi-Nyenga-Jinja Highway.

According to police spokesperson for Ssezibwa region SP Helen Butoto, the assailants arrived on a Bajaj motorcycle at around 8:28 PM at Halal Petrol Station, located in Bujaaya Village, Najja Sub County.

The robbers, dressed in green jackets, were armed with an SMG and a hammer. They fired shots into the air to scare off local residents and employees, before making off with a cash haul of approximately shs 2.78 million.

During the incident, a parked Isuzu Fuso truck (registration number UAL 667Z) was also struck by a bullet.

“We have registered a case of aggravated robbery, and investigations are underway. The hunt for the suspects is ongoing,” said SP Butoto.

Police said no body was injured during the fracas.

Authorities are urging the public to stay vigilant and report any information that could lead to the identification and capture of the suspects.
