The weekly draws have captured the attention of audiences across the country, with six winners taking home shs1 million each. In addition to this, five of the six winners take a share of an extra shs3 million, while the sixth, deemed the luckiest, walks away with a motorcycle and an additional shs100,000 for fuel.
To join the draw, customers need to purchase Plascon paint worth shs100,000 or more. With each purchase, they receive a coupon containing a unique code, which they send via SMS to 7197. Right after entering, participants receive airtime in various denominations as an instant reward. But the real thrill lies in the chance to be one of the lucky winners.
In the first week, Albert Beyunga from Naguru, Kampala who had bought his paint from Plascon’s Sales Office in the industrial area, couldn’t believe his luck when he learned he would also receive shs100,000 worth of fuel along with the shiny new motorcycle.
Joining him in the week one winner's circle were Philip Senteza from Kanyanya, Kampala, who bought his paint at Pyramid Hardware in Kawempe, Beatrice Ankunda from Matugga, who purchased her paint from Kiwa General Hardware, Brian Rashid Kiggundu from Kitende, Entebbe, who picked up his paint from Framera Enterprises in Nakasero, Tom Byamugisha from Kabale District, who made his winning purchase at Kabareebe Hardware and Raymond Atukwatse from Bugolobi, who, like Albert, bought his paint from the Plascon Sales Office in the industrial area.
For week two, it was Henry Sempeera from Ndeeba who won the motorcycle, thanks to his purchase from SJ Paint Centre in his hometown.
His fellow winners included Yassin Ssebuufu from Nansana, who bought his paint from Framera Enterprises in Nakasero, Justine Kamyuuka from Jinja City, who shopped at Busiki General Hardware, Eddy Ategeka, who lives in Bweyogerere but works in Gulu, purchased his paint from Haree Hardware in Gulu, Robert Yoram Mususwa from Salaama, Munyonyo, who won after buying from Munyonyo Hardware, Lydia Nancy Walaga Namutebi from Kitukutwe, Wakiso, who bought her paint from Superdeal Hardware.
At the heart of the campaign is Moses Kiboneka, better known as Uncle Mo, a comedian and content creator who has been pulling off the "Ku Ground" activations. Uncle Mo, along with an energetic team, has been crisscrossing Kampala suburbs and will continue doing so till the end of the promotion period. They’ve been popping up in hardware stores, Plascon stockists and “Ku Ground”. The on-ground activations bring a vibrant energy to every stop, as Uncle Mo engages directly with customers, encouraging them to buy Plascon paint and participate in the draws.
These activations aren't just about fun and games, they're also a critical part of Plascon's strategy to better connect with customers. By going into the stores and communities where their customers live and work, Plascon is not only increasing awareness of the promotion but also gathering valuable feedback from the people who use their products every day.
For customers like Albert Beyunga and Henry Sempeera, the "Ku Ground" promotion is more than just a chance to win some cash or a new motorcycle. It’s a reminder that Plascon isn’t just a brand found in stores, it’s a company that’s willing to meet them where they are, listen to their needs, and reward them for their loyalty.
With 8 weeks left in the promotion, the excitement is building. There are more winners to be named, more motorcycles to be given away and other grand prizes including tuk tuks. Whether you’re buying paint for your new home, a renovation, or just freshening up a room, now’s the time to head to your nearest Plascon-affiliated hardware store. Who knows? Next Monday, it could be you that walks away with a motorcycle on live television.
