BNI Legacy chapter aims for Shs10bn in its first year
The Business Network International (BNI) Legacy Chapter has set a goal to generate Shs10 billion by the end of its first year since being established.
Launched on Wednesday, Legacy becomes the 11th chapter of leading business networking and referral organisation, BNI Uganda, and currently has over 35 members, with expectations to increase to 40.
Speaking at the launch event held at Skyz Hotel Naguru, Susan Nambi, a support expert at BNI Uganda, explained that the BNI Legacy Chapter intends to achieve over Shs10 billion through member referrals in its inaugural year.
"If we have 40 members and each one generates 250 million from referrals in their first year, we will collectively reach over 10 billion," Nambi stated.
She further emphasized, "The goal is for each of the 40 members to earn at least 250 million in business referrals during their first year with BNI."
On her part, BNI Uganda country director, Diana Kibuuka said the organisation's mission is to help businesses expand through a program that facilitates growth via referrals across various sectors.
"We have been tested because we have been in business for nine years now and business owners are beginning to have many success stories which testify to the fact that BNI process of gaining business referrals actually works," she noted.
Kibuuka further mentioned that, in addition to business referrals, BNI members have the opportunity to connect with the global business community.
"The other benefit that the members are beginning to gain is the global business community when they travel to India to China, Asia, Europe. They are actually able to connect with business owners who are willing to help them succeed in business,"
Kibuuka noted that the launch of the 11th group is a significant achievement for BNI, as it reinforces their role as a valuable resource for Ugandan businesses, aiding in their growth and access to various markets.
Speaking to this reporter, BNI Legacy president, Dixon Musisi explained that the focus of the chapter is on establishing lasting impressions that extend beyond just first-generation businesses.
"We're looking at generations of business. So that's the aim mostly. So everything and all the strategies we are taking are looking at building the businesses beyond the first generation," Musisi said.
He added, "People struggle when they're being in distances. Sometimes if you know who you work with and how to get people that you need, Business Network International offers you that. And you can't imagine working with someone and they give you business plan with me and them and then they don't ask for commission. That is impressive for what is going on right now."
Launched in 2015, BNI Uganda is part of Global Business Network International which is one of the leading referral organisations in the world.
In the past 12 months, BNI generated over 12.6 million referrals resulting in $18.4 billion worth of business for its members.
BNI was founded in 1985 by Dr. Ivan Misner. The organisation has over 10,700 chapters across the world.
