Minister Anite calls for greater government support for local enterprises

The State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite, has emphasised the critical role of local investors.
Anite made these remarks during her visit to the headquarters of Movit Products Limited, a leading manufacturer in Africa's beauty and personal care industry.

The visit underscored the government’s commitment to supporting local businesses and highlighted the significant role that homegrown enterprises play in Uganda’s economic development.
Anite stated that companies like Movit are not just economic contributors but also serve as role models for aspiring entrepreneurs.
She also praised Movit for its substantial investments, the employment opportunities it provides to citizens, and its exemplary leadership.
She remarked, “The government’s development plans, including maintaining a stable investment climate, providing a good road network, ensuring the availability of power, and nurturing an employable population, are all designed to benefit companies like Movit.”
She also noted that Movit’s production of quality products that meet export standards, job creation, and the utilization of local expertise are crucial to the nation’s growth.

Simpson Birungi, the founder of Movit Products Limited, expressed his gratitude for the minister’s visit, noting that it reflects the government's care and support for local investors.
