Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, and fellow opposition MPs, met with sugar cane farmers and stakeholders in Budumbulu Village, Jinja District, today as part of the opposition's economic war.

The farmers expressed their dissatisfaction with the constantly decreasing prices of sugar cane, stressing that no farmer is currently able to break even.

"The prices have dropped so low that we can't even cover our costs," said one frustrated farmer. "We urge the government to intervene and address this issue."

Ssenyonyi and his team listened attentively to the farmers' concerns, promising to amplify their voices in Parliament.

"We will not rest until the government takes concrete action to support our farmers," Ssenyonyi assured. "The economic struggles of our people will be our top priority."

Ssenyonyi says the meeting highlighted the opposition's commitment to tackling Uganda's economic challenges, particularly in the agriculture sector.
