Stake holders in the Agricultural sector from different parts of the country have set up  at Kasana play ground in Luwero District to share and exchange ideas and technologies that can create a sustainable growth across the agriculture value chain .

This is part of the four day agricultural expo organized by Buganda Kingdom to run up to June 16.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, Bulemeezi County Chief,  Ronald Mulondo  commended Buganda Kingdom for organizing the expo to bring together stakeholders in the sector.

" Some farmers have used counterfeit insecticides and pesticides out of ignorance and this has costed them a lot of money and I therefore urge them to come and learn from experts and manufacturers of these products to expand their knowledge."

Mulondo added that the expo will also focus on emphasising the importance of cooperatives to help farmers have a joint bargain for their products.

Erasto Kibirango, the head of the organizing committee says that,  this expo  serves as a platform for showcasing of different agricultural items and innovated technologies in the Agricultural sector, networking and  knowledge sharing.

"We have many farmers in Greater Luwero districts of  Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Luwero. The  expo is therefore, a  very big platform for them to learn new farming methods and  following newly invented farming technologies to ensure that we are position to add value on our our products to attract international markets ," said Kibirango.

Luwero residents praised  Buganda for organizing the expo.

"I am excited, I have found very rare herbal trees, the seeds are very cheap but genuine. They have also taught us ways  to increase our yields as well as importance of joining cooperatives which is the way to go nowadays," Andrew Muwanga said.

The Katikiro of Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga  is set to officially open this expo tomorrow, Friday .
