The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SH-ACU) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in the fight against corruption following a high-level meeting in Kampala.
The Head of SH-ACU, Henry Isoke, paid a courtesy call on the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lino Anguzu, where both leaders discussed strategies to enhance coordination and improve outcomes in corruption-related cases.
During the meeting, Isoke congratulated Anguzu on his recent appointment by President Yoweri Museveni, commending the ODPP for maintaining strong institutional systems that have enabled sustained cooperation between the two agencies.
“I thank the staff of the ODPP for their professionalism and dedication to fostering productive working relationships,” Isoke said.
He also briefed the DPP on the operational frameworks and evolving dynamics within the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, highlighting ongoing efforts to execute its mandate of combating corruption across the country.
In his remarks, Anguzu applauded Isoke and his team for their continued vigilance in handling corruption cases, emphasising the importance of refining existing coordination mechanisms to enhance efficiency.
He noted that increased teamwork and closer inter-agency collaboration will be key to strengthening accountability and ensuring effective prosecution of corruption offences.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Deputy DPP Odumbi James Owere; Chief State Attorneys Jonathan Muwaganya and Eddie Muhumuza; Deputy Head of SH-ACU Israel Ochwo; Consultant Ngolobe Amos; and Head of Investigations Lumala, among other officials.
The engagement reflects a shared commitment by the two institutions to bolster the fight against graft and uphold the rule of law in Uganda.
