Vumbula Uganda Festival promises a more delicious Jinja edition

The organisers of the upcoming Vumbula Uganda Festival slated for May 31 until June 3, at Nile Nest Resort Jinja, have promised to offer best and safest festival experience.

The three-day tourism festival marks a premium celebration of Uganda’s art, music, culture, and heritage.

Ahead of the festival, the organisers say they are pleased by how Vumbula festival has grown into a world-renowned celebration, and say they are committed to offering even better and safer festival experience compared to the previous ones.

Speaking at the festival media launch hosted live on NBS Television, Prosper Lumu, the head of security at Vumbula assured that security measures have been heightened to ensure that revelers have the safest experience.

He encouraged tourism enthusiasts to throng the festival in big numbers, with assurance that security will be at its best throughout the three days.

According to the organisers, over 200 acts, cultural troupes are set to headline the upcoming festival.

Stanbic to offer discounted tickets

Meanwhile, speaking at the media launch, Israel Arinaitwe, the Stanbic Bank head of personal banking revealed that the bank has partnered with vumbula Uganda to offer discounts on all tickets bought via FlexiPay (dial *291# and follow prompts).

“Through Flexipay, we are offering exclusive discounts on various items including tickets for the event. Currently, through FlexiPay, you can purchase a ticket at 60 percent discount," he said.

Vumbula tickets at the gate are Shs100,000, but if bought via FlexiPay, the same ticket will cost you only Shs40,000."

Arinaitwe said there are also general discounts on other products such as drinks, snacks, and during the daily happy hour sessions.

He said that their partnership with Vumbula is part of their offorts to give back to its customers as well as celebrate Uganda’s beautiful diversity, especially with the youth

“Vumbula has been described as a premium celebration of the very best of Ugandan art, music, and cuisine. Therefore educating our youth on our cultures and history is also a crucial element in sustaining nation building and the Vumbula Festival has become a focal event in showcasing diverse talent,” he said.

Themed, “Investing in the Green Legacy of the Nile”, the festival will also feature a planting session of 300 trees as part of the efforts to preserve the world’s longest river, the Nile River.
