Sheebah says upcoming concert to celebrate music journey as she partners with Airtel
Singer Sheebah Kalungi has said she will use her upcoming concert to celebrate her journey in Uganda’s music industry.
Speaking to journalists in Kampala on Tuesday afternoon, the Wakikuba singer said the concert named ‘Neeyanzizza’ loosely translated as ‘ I am grateful’ to be held at Lugogo Cricket Oval will see her thank her fans for being there for her, through the music journey.

“I didn’t come from a family with a music background and neither was I singing in the Church choir but hustled my way to the top. My fans have loved and supported me throughout this period . This concert is for me to celebrate my musical journey but to also thank my fans for loving me,” she said.
Having started off the street, Sheebah would later join karaoke from where she joined Obsessions, an all girls’ music group .
She would later go solo and in 2014 , she released her first solo hit single, Ice Cream that introduced her to the music scene.
Sheebah has never looked back.
Over the years, the singer has cemented her name in Uganda’s music industry with a number of hits that have thrown her fans into frenzy.
She has on several occasions been recognized at the Uganda Music Awards, Zzina Awards, HiPipo Music Awards, and internationally at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards among others.
Speaking about the upcoming concert, Sheebah also hinted at taking a break from performing at concerts to enable her “recharge”.
She however insisted that the recharge will take a short period.
Fellow musicians Lydia Jazmine, Kabako and Young Mulo said they will perform at Sheebah’s concert to show solidarity with her.
“ We have to thank Sheebah for being a good friend while she is still alive. We shall do this by asking our fans to attend the concert in big numbers,” Kabako said.
Airtel partnership
At a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, organisers announced that Sheebah Karungi fans can now access discounted tickets to the concert through Airtel Money.

conference expressed the brand's excitement with the partnership. He said,
“At Airtel Money, we are very keen on supporting talent and entertainment in Uganda and we are very excited to be partners for the Neyanziza concert. We shall support Sheebah all the way and have already created a code for payments,” said Muzoora Kabuga, the head merchant pay at Airtel Money.
He noted anyone who pays using the code will get a shs5000 discount.
Airtel officials also said revelers will also enjoy a seamless 5G internet experience at the concert courtesy of Airtel Uganda.
“I also want to assure you that everyone who comes to the show will have a free 5G experience. Those of you who would like to post videos on TikTok, we are going to give you a free 5G experience as Airtel has the best 5G in the country.”
In addition to buying tickets at discounted rates, Sheebah’s fans also have an opportunity to win lots of prizes in the newly launched Airtel Money Vroomula Amajja campaign.
“There is also the Vroomula Amajja campaign where if you buy a ticket usingthe merchant code, you not only get a discount but also enter a draw to win cash, Boda Bodas and a brand new Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid 2024 model. We have already awarded more than shs100 million to lucky Airtel Money users,” Kabuga said.
Sheebah Karungi applauded Airtel Money for the partnership.
