I-Trap: Sato’s new toilet connection system to improve sanitation standards
Sato Uganda has launched the Sato I- Trap, a toilet connection system to enhance hygiene and sanitation standards for Ugandans, especially in communities facing specific challenges with poor sanitation and hygiene infrastructure.
Speaking during the launch in Kampala, Timothy Kayondo, the team leader at Sato Uganda said the new product offers a cleaner, safer, and more accessible sanitation experience for families, especially women and children.

"We are committed to empowering people to live better lives through innovative sanitation and hygiene solutions. Our philosophy is to innovate with the end user in mind whilst driving the global sustainability agenda," Kayondo said.
"The Sato I-Trap toilet connection system is designed to improve sanitation standards across Uganda, offering numerous benefits that set it apart from conventional toilet systems. The product has an advanced design that minimizes odors and effectively keeps flies and other vectors away, ensuring a more hygienic environment, it is cost-effective, easy to install, and maintain, and is built to last, reduces the security risks associated with distant latrines and can be easily adapted to conventional porcelain toilet systems.”
He said the new product supports the usage of less water per flush compared to traditional toilet systems, contributing to water conservation efforts.
According to Kayondo, in a bid to support the new innovative product, Sato Uganda has started conducting product demonstrations and training sessions for masons and plumbers across the country.
These sessions, he said aim to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge to provide excellent support to customers.
“This innovation, the SATO I-Trap Toilet connection system supports Sustainable Development Goal 6.2, which aims to achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation by 2030, with special attention to the needs of women, girls, and those in vulnerable situations.”
