Sanyuka TV, a leading Ugandan television station dedicated to providing content for the everyday Ugandan, has announced a partnership with Healingway Group of Hospitals for a two-day medical camp on November 20th and 21st, 2024. This camp, to be held at the Healingway Diagnostic and Fertility Center at Rashida Towers in Kololo, is designed to offer free medical services, consultations, and select diagnostic tests to the community. The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.

Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge in Uganda, where health infrastructure and resources are often stretched thin. According to a recent report by the World Bank, Uganda has only 0.5 physicians per 1,000 people, far below the global average, highlighting a critical shortage of healthcare professionals. Additionally, over 70% of Ugandans live in rural areas where health services are even more limited, and many have to travel long distances to access basic healthcare services. Another report from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics indicates that nearly 40% of Ugandans are unable to afford health services when needed, underscoring the financial barriers to accessing care.

As part of its brand promise, "Ffe banno ddala", Sanyuka TV aims to support initiatives that resonate with Ugandans’ everyday needs. Known for its engaging, relatable programming, Sanyuka TV has built a reputation as a trusted station for Ugandan families, delivering a blend of entertainment, current affairs, and social awareness. This medical camp embodies the station’s commitment to being present in the lives of Ugandans, not only through entertainment but also through impactful & transformative initiatives.

The camp will offer a range of services, including radiology (MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound), cardiology, gynecology, nephrology, dermatology, and more. Esteemed specialists from Max Super Specialty Hospital in India, Dr. Naveen Pandita and Dr. Anshul Gupta will be present to provide consultations.

“As Sanyuka TV, we believe that our responsibility to the public goes beyond the great programming we offer but it also involves transforming the lives of our audiences and this free medical camp is one of the ways we hope to achieve that,” said Nicholas Ngobi, the Sanyuka TV brand manager. “By providing access to quality healthcare, we hope to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most and uphold our promise to be there for Ugandans in ways that truly matter.” He added.
