President Yoweri Museveni is set to visit the Ankole sub-region on February 26, 2025, as part of his ongoing tour to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM).
The sub-region, which includes districts such as Mbarara, Bushenyi, Sheema, Rubirizi, Mitooma, Kiruhura, and Buhweju, is among the areas benefiting from the government’s flagship initiative aimed at improving household incomes and driving socio-economic transformation.
During his visit, Museveni will meet with successful farmers who have benefited from the PDM, launch various development projects, and engage with local stakeholders to evaluate the program’s progress.
The president has already toured Eastern Uganda, Busoga, and Kigezi sub-regions, where he witnessed success stories and inaugurated different projects under the initiative.
The Parish Development Model is designed to uplift communities by channeling resources to the grassroots level, fostering financial inclusion, and enhancing productivity.
Museveni’s visit to Ankole is expected to provide further insights into the program’s impact while addressing any challenges faced by beneficiaries.
