Katanga Chairman Gets Museveni’s Motorcycle, Transforms Community Work

Katanga Village Chairman, Moses Lomilo Modan, has a brighter future ahead after receiving a motorcycle promised to him by President Museveni.

The promise was fulfilled following the President’s visit to Naitakwai Grounds, Moroto, on December 4, 2024, where Lomilo’s heartfelt plea captured the attention of the President and local leaders.

During the visit, Lomilo expressed frustration over the challenges of life without reliable transportation.

He explained that the lack of mobility hindered his ability to monitor critical government programs, such as the Emyooga initiative and the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Lomilo revealed that he purchased the brand-new motorcycle from Soroti, marking a turning point in his community work and personal income.

“This motorcycle will help me closely monitor government programs in Katanga and ensure their success. It is also generating daily income, which will enable me to pay school fees for my children,” Lomilo said.

The village chairman expressed gratitude to President Museveni for fulfilling the pledge made during the regional tour and committed to supporting the President in the upcoming 2026 elections.

“The President has honored his promise, and I will rally support for him in 2026,” Lomilo said.

This is just one of many commitments made by the President during his tour of the Karamoja region.

Other promises include providing a van for Karamoja journalists and Shs 100 million to support their initiatives.
