Mukalazi Takes Over Privatisation Docket from Anite
The Ministry of Finance has overseen a formal handover of the Privatization and Investment docket, with Hajjat Amina Mukalazi pledging to prioritise value addition, industrialisation and investor confidence as she assumes office.

The Ministry of Finance has conducted a handover ceremony for the Privatization and Investment docket, with Hajjat Amina Mukalazi officially taking over leadership.

The outgoing State Minister, Evelyn Anite, formally handed over office during a ceremony witnessed by the Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury, Dr. Ramathan Ggoobi.

In her remarks, Mukalazi thanked President Yoweri Museveni for the trust placed in her and pledged to strengthen Uganda’s investment climate by working with investors and government agencies to address bottlenecks and improve confidence.

“I pledge to prioritise value-addition investments that create jobs for Ugandans, support industrialisation, and promote exports,” Mukalazi said.

Anite, in her farewell remarks, thanked the technical team for their support during her tenure, highlighting achievements including the expansion of Namanve Industrial Park and the establishment of Mbale Industrial Park.

Ggoobi commended Anite for strengthening investor relations and laying a clear roadmap for the docket, while welcoming Mukalazi and emphasizing the importance of her role in delivering Uganda’s 10-fold economic growth strategy.

“The technical team is ready. Our mandate is clear, we shall provide you with timely data and sound policy advice for seamless execution, so that political direction translates into economic results. We are committed to the values of professionalism, integrity, and service delivery,” Ggoobi said.
