"We are ready so voters should not worry," Taremwa said.

The elections shall be conducted through lining up behind the favoured candidates, not through secret ballot.

The opposition and civil society organisations have warned that this method could disenfranchise voters who could keep away, fearing to be victimised for choosing to line behind one candidate and not the other.

But Taremwa said these fears are unfounded.

"No one will be disenfranchised. my appeal to all stakeholders is to appreciate what the law provides and to get out the best. This (lining up) is much better than keep the country without local councils," he said.
