UHome officially opens Kampala showroom ahead of busy festive season

The State Minister for Finance in Charge of Investment and Privatization has officially opened UHome, a showroom for products manufactured in Mbale Industrial Park.

The opening happened at Arena Mall in Nsambya on Saturday.

Speaking during the function, Minister Anite rallied Ugandans to buy these locally manufactured products as a way of supporting fellow citizens.

"By opening the first show rooms for products manufactured in Mbale Industrial park, we are ensuring we bring these products near people in Kampala. By buying these products, you are creating employment for people who work in these factories. Anything you buy  translates into job creation and that way you are supporting the economy, " Anite said.

The minister applauded Mr. Paul Zhang, the chairman of Mbale Industrial Park for bringing together several investors whom she said have ensured Uganda now manufactures products whihc were previously imported from other countries.

"By manufacturing these product locally, we have ensured money is not given away in form of importation but also we have created so many jobs form our brothers and sisters," Anite said.

Paul Zhang, the chairman of Tian Tang Group and Mbale Industrial Park said the factories in the industrial park currently manufacture products which in the past had to be imported from countries like China.

"By doing this, we are building Uganda. By opening this showroom, we are bringing these products near Ugandans and to emaphasise it, all products sold at the showroom are manufactured in Uganda,"Zhang said.

Luke Wang, managing director of UHome, said they are set to open showrooms in all cities in the country.

"Everything sold in the showroom are exclusively manufactured in Uganda and the raw materials are sourced from within the country. This is the first showroom, but we want to open showrooms in every city in Uganda," Wang said.

"We already have a showroom in Mbarara , Gulu and Mbale but we are to open more in other cities to make sure Ugandans enjoy products manufactured by their brothers and sisters from Mbale Industrial park."
