Kisumu County governor condemns arrest of FDC Katonga members in Kenya
Kisumu County Governor, Professor Peter Anyang' Nyong'o, has strongly condemned the recent arrest and detention of 36 Ugandan politicians.
In a statement,, Governor Nyong'o expressed deep concern over the actions taken by Ugandan authorities, calling them a blatant violation of democratic principles and human rights.

"The arrest and detention of political leaders in Uganda is a troubling development that threatens the democratic fabric of our region," Governor Nyong'o stated.
"As leaders, we must uphold the principles of democracy, respect for human rights, and the rule of law. The actions taken against these politicians are unacceptable and must be immediately addressed."
At least 36 members of FDC Katonga faction were last week arrested from Kenya where they had allegedly gone to attend a works
"We call upon the Ugandan government to honor its commitment to democratic values and to engage in constructive dialogue to resolve any political disputes," the Kisumu County governor urged.
The governor's statement comes amidst increasing calls from the international community for Uganda to respect human rights and democratic norms.
