Mpuuga should resign- Ssenyonyi
Default Text

Joel Ssenyonyi, the current Leader of Opposition in Uganda's Parliament, is raising serious allegations of financial mismanagement. During an appearance on NBS Morning Breeze, a popular morning show, Ssenyonyi slammed the current practices as "total financial impropriety."

His criticism stems from accusations of "billions being spent irregularly by the Speaker" and concerns about recent awards given to parliamentary commissioners.

Ssenyonyi claims to have evidence to challenge these allegedly irregular awards and emphasizes the need for action. "We shall not tire in demanding accountability," he declared.

One specific concern involves the former Leader of Opposition, Mathias Mpuuga, who now serves as a commissioner. Ssenyonyi accuses Mpuuga of dodging public accountability regarding the alleged receipt of 500 million shillings (Shs. 500m).

Adding fuel to the fire, Ssenyoniyi highlights a contradiction. While Mpuuga denies receiving the money, Parliament spokesperson Chris Obore has publicly stated the commissioners have already been paid. This inconsistency raises questions about transparency within the institution.

Ssenyoniyi's accusations paint a picture of a Parliament potentially embroiled in financial misconduct. He demands clear answers and a commitment to responsible use of public funds.
