Justice Forum (JEEMA) has emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to utilizing digital pathways to enhance youth development and expedite progress towards UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The party made the call as Uganda joined the global celebration of International Youth Day (IYD) that took place on Monday at Soroti Core PTC, Asuret Sub County, Soroti District.
This year’s international theme for IYD is "Youth digital pathways for sustainable development," while the national theme is "Skills development for enhancement of youth opportunities."
The party spokesperson Dr. Swaib Kaggwa Nsereko highlighted the transformative impact of digital advancements on society, particularly in addressing critical issues affecting young people.
"JEEMA focuses on the influence of technology and digitalization, advocating for policy changes to address rural-urban migration and high-risk settlements," he said.
He urged the government to address factors driving migration, ensuring citizen welfare and prioritizing prevention-focused policies.
"JEEMA's manifesto emphasizes the need for sustainable development and energy policy reform, encouraging the government to learn from the Kiteezi tragedy and prioritize citizen welfare," he said.
He noted that the party champions the theme "From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development," stressing the importance of digital solutions in fast-tracking national development.
