The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that he will visit Rwanda in the coming days.

According to his Monday's X post, the First Son will be in Kigali to attend the inauguration ceremony of Rwanda's President Paul Kagame.

"I am happy to announce that I will be visiting my second home, Rwanda, soon. I will attend Afande Kagame's inauguration ceremony. It will be, without doubt, the biggest celebration in Africa this year. Rukundo Egumeho!" Gen Muhoozi posted.

Gen Muhoozi last visited Rwanda in April last year to celebrate his birthday at the invitation of Rwandan President.

At the birthday dinner, Kagame praised Muhoozi's efforts to unite Rwanda and Uganda, and labelled him a 'peace prince'.

‘We are seeing peace between our two countries. You can have peace but at the same time, you may not be friends. But this time, I think we have both. We are friends and we are at peace, thanks to you Gen. Muhoozi for your conviction for being that bridge,” Kagame said.

Kagame was re-elected the President of Rwanda last month with a 99% vote win and will serve a fourth term.

Several leaders and dignitaries including Gen. Muhoozi, are expected to attend the President's inauguration ceremony scheduled for this month.
