Gen Kainerugaba calls UPDF cadet officers to be servant leaders

The Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, delivered an insightful lecture on servant leadership to officer cadets at the Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta, Nakaseke District.

General Kainerugaba, also the Senior Presidential Advisor - Special Operations, emphasized the transformative power of servant leadership within the military, urging cadets to lead by example through acts of exemplary service.

“Human beings are inspired by your actions,” remarked General Kainerugaba, highlighting the profound impact of leadership behavior on those being led.

He shared valuable insights into the attributes of a servant leader, stressing the importance of empathy, humility, and a deep understanding of the needs and circumstances of the troops under their command.

Furthermore, General Kainerugaba encouraged cadets to prioritize the welfare of their troops and provide unwavering support during challenging times.

In his address, he urged cadets to embrace a mindset of continuous self-improvement, emphasizing the importance of humility in acknowledging mistakes and learning from others.

“Leadership is not about being perfect. It is about continuous growth," reiterated General Kainerugaba, emphasizing the journey of ongoing development inherent in effective leadership.

The lecture was attended by key officials including the Commandant Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta Brigadier General Bonny Geoffrey Wolimbwa, as well as senior officers and instructors of the institution.
