The UPDF and FARDC have been pursuing ADF rebels inside DRC since December 2021 when Operation Shuja, a Kiswahili word for ‘Bravery’ started.
During this time, a number of ADF camps have been obliterated while several commanders have either been killed in action or captured alive.
Several other ADF fighters have also been killed or captured by the Ugandans and DRC army.
The two armies have also seized several catches of weapons from the rebel group which has since been declared a terrorist outfit.
Meanwhile, several abductees have also been freed.
The numerous attacks by the UPDF and FARDC have seen ADF fighters split and now move in groups of not more than five for fear of being detected.
Operations targeting ADF sleeper cells and collaborators have also continued inside Uganda with several of them crashed.
