Since its launch earlier this year, the competition has toured several regions, including Hoima, Masaka, Mbarara, Arua and Gulu, providing a platform for young dancers to showcase their talent while building a loyal following among entertainment lovers across the country.

The Kampala contest will feature VBD Dance Group, Army Dancers, Bomba Dancers, Ultimate Movers, TS Bashers Dance Group, Way Dancers, American Crew, Eclet Dancers, Soweto Kids, Mostif Girls and Fist 4 Dance Crew.

Organisers say the line-up combines seasoned performers and rising talent, reflecting Kampala's status as one of Uganda's leading centres for dance, music and youth entertainment.

Among the teams expected to draw attention are Soweto Kids, who enter the competition with one of the largest groups, and Mostif Girls, an all-female crew hoping to challenge established perceptions in a contest often dominated by mixed-gender teams.

Army Dancers and Ultimate Movers are also among the crews tipped to make a strong impression following standout performances during the audition stages.

For many contestants, the competition represents more than a chance to qualify for the national finale. It is also an opportunity to gain recognition, build their profiles and demonstrate their creativity on one of the country's biggest dance platforms.

"We know Kampala is different because everyone here believes they are the best. We have prepared ourselves mentally and physically because we want people to remember our performance long after the night ends," a member of Army Dancers said.

A representative of Mostif Girls said the group was determined to prove that talent and teamwork matter more than stereotypes.

"People always expect dance competitions to be dominated by certain kinds of groups, but we want to prove that energy, creativity and teamwork matter more. We are coming to compete and to represent girls who love dance," she said.

The winning crew will earn the right to represent Kampala at the national showdown, where regional champions from across the country will compete for overall honours.

The competition will be judged by Dance Mamweta and DVD Afroking, both respected figures within Uganda's dance industry. Participants will be assessed on choreography, creativity, stage presence and audience engagement.

The Kampala edition also marks the final regional stop of this year's Neon Raves campaign, which has delivered memorable performances across Uganda, ranging from cultural showcases and themed productions to highly competitive dance battles.

Speaking ahead of the event, Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe said Kampala's reputation for creativity and competition was expected to produce one of the strongest showcases of the season.

"Kampala has one of the strongest dance communities in the country and we expect the competition to reflect that. What we have seen across Uganda has been incredible, but Kampala represents another level because of the diversity, creativity and competitiveness within the city. We are expecting something special," she said.

With regional pride, national recognition and a place in the grand finale all on the line, attention will turn to Supremacy Lounge this Saturday as Kampala's finest dancers battle for supremacy under the neon lights.
