Mayiga Forgives Gashumba After Apology For Anti-Kingdom Drivel

Mr Gashumba, the executive drector of Sisimuka Uganda, has for years lived on his tongue and marked himself as a sharp critic of Mayiga and the kingdom.

But days after the family of the late Tamale Mirundi appolised to the kingdom and the Katikkiro, Mr Gashumba has followed suit and laid down his salvo.

Gashumba had previously used inappropriate language that shocked many, causing widespread concern.

However, in a surprising turn, he issued a formal apology, acknowledging the harm his words had caused not only to Katikkiro Mayiga but also to others who were affected by the remarks.

Katikkiro Mayiga graciously accepted Mr Gashumba's apology, commending his courage to admit his mistakes.

He took the opportunity to urge social media users to avoid spreading insults and instead focus on truth and constructive dialogue that fosters understanding.

“Reconciliation and working together should always be our priority, no matter the differences,” Mayiga said.

Mr Gashumba, reflecting on his family's long-standing ties to Buganda, expressed deep regret for the strain caused by his actions.

He recounted how his great-grandparents were welcomed in Buganda, a place that offered them a home when others did not.

He also praised the Katikkiro’s "Mwanyi Terimba" coffee programme, which has empowered many people in Buganda to improve their livelihoods.

The meeting ended on a positive note with a symbolic handshake, reaffirming a renewed bond of brotherhood.

Gashumba acknowledged that it takes maturity to admit one’s wrongs and expressed his readiness to move forward, demonstrating humility in the process.
