West Ankole Bishop warns area MPs against participating in chaos in parliament

The west Ankole Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni has warned  members of Parliament against ever participating in fighting in the August House.

Twinomujuni made the remarks while presiding over the sendoff ceremony of Obadiah Ntebekeine Rushambuza a renowned successful Bushenyi businessmen who died reently.

"Our parliament should be an honorable house with honorable people but MPs who fight on the floor of parliament, should be unheard of," Bishop Twinomujuni said.

"To you all Ankole MPs please don't lift a chair or microphones to fight anybody in parliament, It's a shame."

The Bishop wondered how chairs are swung in the air on the floor of parliament instead of debating issues.

"In parliament you should agree to agree or agree to disagree, using the brains not chairs."

The Bishop who was addressing mourners including the deputy speaker, applauded him for his conduct in and outside parliament.

"I want to thank the deputy speaker for his conduct and leadership in and outside parliament, and we pray for him, he has represented us very well and we ask that the august house is in order," Bishop Twinomujuni said.

The Bishops words follow Wednesday events in parliament where Kilak North Member of Parliament Anthony Akol threw punches towards  Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake  during the Coffee bill debate .

In the resulting chaos,  12 Members of Parliament  were suspended by the speaker for the next three sittings.

Ankole sub-region has  47 members of Parliament representing 13 districts with constituencies and municipalities and one city.
