Magambo Launches Ntungamo Campaign, Pledges to Prioritise Grassroots Needs

National Unity Platform (NUP) parliamentary aspirant Rubahamya Godwin Magambo has launched his campaign in Kabagyenda and Kyanju in Ntungamo Municipality, pledging to prioritize grassroots concerns and restore accountability in political leadership.

Magambo told residents that the role of a legislator goes beyond speeches and handouts, insisting that leaders must first understand the daily struggles of the communities they represent.

“I promise to always come and sit with you as we identify your challenges that I will later address,” he said, criticizing previous leaders for failing “to report the real problems at the grassroots.”

Addressing supporters on the first day of his campaign, Magambo emphasized that a Member of Parliament is obligated to lobby for social services and ensure that citizens access them as mandated by government.

He urged voters to resist manipulation and misinformation from rival camps.

“Don’t allow these leaders to fill you with deceit. These services are provided by government, not mere leaders,” he said, stressing the need for truthful engagement and consistent representation.

He also committed to supporting recreational activities in the municipality to strengthen community welfare and youth development.

Acknowledging that not every promise may be fulfilled immediately, Magambo assured residents of his commitment to transparency and dedicated service.

Describing himself as “a bridge to bigger achievements,” he encouraged supporters to remain united amid intimidation, noting that the campaign period often brings pressure aimed at weakening emerging political voices.

With the campaign season officially underway, Magambo said he is ready to move from cell to cell across the municipality to mobilize, consult, and present a people-centred agenda for Ntungamo.
