Coca-Cola donates to Police to support keeping law, order at Martyrs Day celebrations

Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU), a leading beverage company has  extended support to  police to help in keeping law and order during the annual Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations.

The support was in form of  donation of over 100 cartons of water and beverages to traffic officers stationed on the different routes to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.

CCBU’s support ensured that hardworking traffic police officers stationed on the different routes of Namugongo were adequately refreshed and hydrated throughout the event.

“Our vision is to refresh Africa every day and make the continent a better place for all, is what motivated us to support this noble cause. We know that supporting the traffic officers to effectively conduct their duty triggers a ripple effect by easing movement and ensuring safety for road users and attending pilgrims,” said Kirunda Magoola, the Public Affairs Communication and Sustainability Director of CCBU.

He said that Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda is an equal-opportunity employer that employs people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

“The donation is a testament to the company’s dedication to serving the community and making a positive difference in the lives of those around them.”

According to SSP Rogers Nsereko Kauma, the Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander, the donation aided the dedicated officers to carry out their job effectively.

“Such support makes our teams work better by keeping us cool and hydrated in the heat. We appreciate Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda for reaching out to support Uganda Police run its operations effectively,” SSP Kauma said.
