Police recover human skulls, blood in Kampala shrine

Police in Kampala  have discovered an assortment of  human remains in a shrine where a traditional healer is suspected to have killed the human beings in ritual sacrifice.

According to the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the raid to the shrine located in Kazinga, Masajja Kibira B village , Masajja parish in Makindye Ssabagabo  followed intelligence information from locals who suspected shady activities in the area.

The territorial Police at Katwe then carried out an intelligence-led operation and recovered suspected human remains, three skulls and a bottle of suspected human or animal blood at the shrine of Jjaja Magombe John, a 50-year-old witch doctor,” Owoyesigyire said.

He noted that the team has since submitted all exhibits to their forensic laboratories for analysis, while the suspect is currently detained at Katwe Police station as investigations into the matter continue.

The Kampala Police spokesperson however noted that after the arrest, members of the public on the follow day descended on the shrine and burnt it to the ground at night.
