Be Forward has not closed business in Uganda, agents speak out

Japanese car exporter, Be Forward has through six of its agents spoken about a litany of complaints by clients against one of their colleagues.

Clients over the weekend held a press conference in which they accused Nagoya Company Limited also known as Steel Logistics Limited owned by Henry Nkeera of defrauding them millions of money and failed to deliver vehicles they had ordered for.

However, on Monday, speaking through six of the company’s agents admitted there are “issues” with one of their fellow agents, Steel Logistics but refused to divulge more.

“There are audit challenges that Steel Logistics has with Be Forward Japan but are being worked upon and will be rectified,” said Marvin Ayebare, the CEO of Kheri Group Limited.

“The challenges are being ironed out with Be Forward Japan.”

Ayebare explained that the cause of the queries has been identified but will soon be “sorted”.

In the statement, the agents said Be Forward is still operating in Uganda through six agents including Kheri Group Limited, Pre Motors Limited, Mpaatanel Company Limited, Fahd Enterprises Limited, Meik Car Hub Limited and Beetonda Auto Limited located in Masaka City.

“Be Forward remains open for business in Uganda through six of our operational agents and shall continue to deliver the best service to our clients, as your trusted automobile partner,” Ayebare said.

In the statement, Ayebare, the CEO of Kheri Group Limited seemed to say that there are currently only six authorized agents for the Japanese car company in Uganda.

“As we have mentioned, there are issues being resolved with Be Forward Japan( and Steel Logistics) and at this point I can’t comment on their issue. I can’t for now say they are agents or not agents of Be Forward in Uganda.”

However, when asked to explain more about the challenges facing Steel Logistics, the six other agents declined to comment on the matter saying it is still under investigation.

“I can’t give an unfounded position this time because we are still collecting information about the complaints. The reconciliation and audit is being done.”

When asked about Henry Nkeera, the Be Forward agents described him as the director for Steel Logistics Limited but refused to add more information about the same.

The statement by the six agents of Be Forward indirectly seemed to be distancing themselves from the actions of Steel Logistics which is accused of defrauding clients.
