Kira Road Police have arrested a security guard in a botched ammunition deal in Kampala.

The suspect in custody is Isaac Okello 28, a resident of Gogonya, Kabalagala in Makindye division.

According to Police, Okello is a security guard at Saracen security company and he was arrested on October 10, by officers at Ntinda Police station after a botched sell of ammunition, magazines and other gun parts.

“The Police received information about this sale and he was consequently arrested red handed during the sale. At the scene, officers recovered live ammunition and magazines,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango.

“He was intending to sell to the buyer SMG magazines for Shs 100,000 and a bullet for Shs 2000 each,” he said.

Upon arrest, Onyango said a search was also conducted at his place of residence in Gogonya where an assortment of rifle parts was recovered,

The recovered items included: bayonets, pistol magazines, SMG magazines and other gun parts.

Onyango said the suspect will be charged with illegal possession of government stores.
