Ugandan Consulate in Mombasa participates in this year's Rotary cancer run

The Ugandan Consulate in Mombasa on Sunday joined other Embassies and High Commissions to lead Ugandans in the diaspora to take part in this year's Rotary Cancer run .

The run aimed at raising funds to build bunkers which will house the modern cancer screening and testing machines at Nsambya Hospital saw Ugandans run in Kenya's  coast city of Mombasa on Sunday.

In remarks made on behalf of the Consul General, Moses Sukhya, the  first  Secretary at the Consulate applauded the diaspora for participating in the run but also  reiterated that the Consulate stands in solidarity with this Initiative in an appeal made by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Gen Jeje Odongo.

He appealed to Ugandans to maintain a healthy life style eat well, exercise regular and constantly have periodic medical examinations owing to the fact that cancer can be detected, treated and managed before it advances to its deadly stages.

The Ugandan community conveyed a message of gratitude to the staff of the Consulate for inviting them to participate in the Cancer run and pledged to continue supporting this noble cause.
