Opposition leaders should too spread the Emyooga gospel, urges  Minister Kasolo

The State Minister for Microfinance, Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo has said it the role of all leaders, regardless of their political affiliations to preach to the population about the various government programs including Emyooga.

“When your leaders speak at public functions and don't talk about Emyooga, don't elect them again. Emyooga is everyone’s program. If you are a leader and you are not in Emyooga, you don't deserve to be given another term because you don't know that you are a leader. This is a government programme. It is supposed to transform the lives of your people. If you are not part of the programme, will you have the moral authority to advocate for it,”Kasolo said on Thursday,

The minister was speaking in Kasese Municipality as part of Emyooga program monitoring campaign.

He insisted that Emyooga, just like other governments is all inclusive.

“I want to encourage all of you that are not in Emyooga to join. If you still want another term, better join Emyooga.  All NRM chairpersons should be in Emyooga. How can you support NRM, and you fail to support NRM programmes?”

He challenged people in Kasese Municipality to ensure they embrace Emyooga through joining or forming saccos , saving and then borrowing from them.

The minister said there is no excuse for not taking part in Emyooga program

“The message here is saving. If you are a human being and you want to eradicate poverty, you must earn money daily. If you are here and you don't have a business that earns you money daily, go and check yourself. If you want to buy a car, building house, pay school fees, go and start a business that earns you money daily. You can get rich in short time. You don't require a lot of capital. My mother was selling pancakes to get my school fees. Do you think she still sells pancakes? For you, instead of paying for your children and saving, you are in salon, and eating chicken. Who will look after you when you grow old,”Kasolo asked.

“We have to work for our future. If someone owns a car, and you don't have one, don't you ask yourself why? You are in the same locality, the challenges are the same. Why don't you have what he has?We are all potential candidates for wealth creation. Even if you sleep in Church or mosque, but don't work, you are wasting your time. You should own a business and ask God for customers. “
