The president has disputed reports that he did not attend the wedding of his daughter, as some reports had suggested.

The colourful and lavish wedding took place over the weekend. It was attended by dignitaries

Eyebrows had been raised when the president did not show up at the wedding.

But speaking a group of his admirers and supporters who paid him a courtesy visit on Monday, the president said he had attended the function on "zoom."

"I have been reading this nonsense on social media that I missed my daughter;s wedding. How can I miss the wedding of my daughter? Is that possible?" he said.

"With this advancement in technology, I don't have to be in a place to be part of the function. I asked my IT boys here to enable on that nani...is it called zoom? Yes, that one and I saw everything."

Sources that attended the meeting told The Rogue that the president had told the supporters that he got last minute engagements that could not allow him to travel for the wedding.

The only hiccup, the president said came at the time he was supposed to give his speech when the connection suddenly went off, due to non payment of OTT.

"I was told that they had not requisitioned money for OTT and that is why the connection went off. I have instructed my senior people to investigate the matter. How can we fail to buy OTT? This is impossible," he told the meeting,

The president wished the daughter and the groom a happy marriage before he switched the conversation to matters of national security.

The Rogue is a satirical column that runs on The Nile Post.
