The territorial Police in Kyankwanzi are actively investigating circumstances under which a 10-year old girl died after being defiled.

The deceased has been identified as Christine Namukisa, a pupil at Bambala Primary School in P.3.

According to police spokesperson for Wamala, ASP Kawala Racheal, the deceased was defiled by unknown person on February 10, 2022 and case of aggravated defilement was opened up at Ntwetwe Police station .

It is alleged that on February 10, 2022 at around 6:00pm, the deceased Namukisa, reached home from school. Hungry, she decided to go out and buy sugarcane next a trading centre where she had lived with her uncle for some time.

“She accepted and boarded the motorcycle. She was ridden up to near a coffee plantation of one Nsabimana where she was forcefully removed from the bike, pulled to the coffee plantation and aggressively defiled by the motorcyclist, leaving her in an unconscious state until around 0800pm when she regained her conscience and walked slowly home and narrated to the mother who also informed the police,” Kawala said.

From then, Kawala says the girl had been admitted at Ntwetwe health centre 4 where she died from on February 12, 2022.

She noted that scene was visited by a team of detectives and materials of evidential value recovered while the search for suspect is ongoing.

“We strongly condemn such senseless acts of violence and urge parents and caretakers to always be vigilant and closely monitor movements of their children,” Kawala urged.
