Raila Odinga meets Besigye ahead of 2022 Kenya elections
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga yesterday held a closed door meeting with Dr. Kizza Besigye, the former FDC president, The Nile Post has learnt.
Officials from the Odinga’s office said the two political big wigs discussed a number of issues related to the rule of law and entrenchment of democracy in Kenya and Uganda.

The meeting took place at Raila's residence in Nairobi.
In a tweet, Odinga said: “It was great catching up with my long-time friend Kizza Besigye" adding that "Dr. Kizza Besigye and I discussed the liberation dream that is still being pursued in many of our nations."
Odinga commended Besigye for staying focused on the well-being of people in Uganda.
Recently Kenya’s Deputy President, William Ruto was stopped from boarding a flight to Uganda over unclear reasons, stoking political tensions at home.
Both Odinga and Ruto are in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, in the 2022 election.
The deputy Lord mayor Doreen Nyanjura however, questioned Odinga’s relationship with Besigye adding that on very many occasions, he has acknowledged how President Museveni is so close to him.
Nyanjura claimed that Odinga even campaigned for president Museveni “Today, you have publicly owned Kizza Besigye because Museveni is for William Samoei Ruto”
Odinga is crafting a new political outfit that he will be unveiling ahead of next year's elections in Kenya.
