FDC: "We will act if 2021 elections are rigged"

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party president, Patrick Oboi Amuriat has said that FDC will not complain, but act, if the 2021 general elections are rigged.

Amuriat, who doubles as the FDC presidential flag bearer in the forthcoming elections added that FDC understands that the Electoral Commission (EC) is biased but they will not seek help from Courts of law as they have been doing.

Amuriat said, "We are alive to the fact that EC is partisan. We don't care. We are going to be in the polling stations to collect the DR forms and tally the results and show the public, and then we know what to do."

He added, "What will be different this time is that we will not complain but act, this is not a threat."

In July this year, FDC party former president and strongman Dr. Kizza Besigye unveiled what he termed as 'Plan B' and Amuriat said that this is something they are considering if the elections fail to be free and fair.

He challenged the EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama to ensure that the 2021 general election is free and fair for all.

Amuriat added that he is not threatened by the People Power/National Unity Platform wave, saying that the FDC is well grounded and they are determined to oust incumbent President Yoweri Museveni come 2021.

"I have nothing to be afraid of. I have been in this. If it was a war, I am a dog of war. Besides, I have the backing of my party (FDC)," Amuriat said.

Amuriat said he comes from a very big region (Greater North), he said he will tap into this to win the 2021 presidential election.

He maintained that the FDC will fight on two fronts with front A being the general election and front B being Dr. Besigye's Plan B.
